Two-thirds of the main cast for Dimension Films' upcoming Soul Men are gone, within the same week. Originally scheduled for a November 14 opening, the film focuses on three musicians coming back to the legendary Apollo Theater to pay tribute to a band leader and friend who has, you guessed it, recently died.No lame jokes here about death coming in threes or Samuel L. Jackson needing a thorough physical. Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes will both be missed, and Dimension now has one hell of a dilemma to figure out for a movie about death starring two dead actors. Given the similar Heath Ledger/Dark Knight situation earlier in 2008, WB just hopes this new trend will stop soon.
